Professor Dr Eppo Wolvius is Head of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Special Dental Care and Orthodontics, at the Erasmus University Medical Centre in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He is also a team member of the Dutch Craniofacial Centre. His care and research interests include trauma, orthognatic, pre-implantological, and craniofacial surgery.
In this AOCMF video, the expert surgeon shares:
- The upper eye lid-incision as a safe and straight-forward incision to approach the supra-orbital rim, including the ZF suture, and the upper compartment of the orbit.
- Step-by-step instructions on how to gain access to the cranial vault, forehead, the orbits, NOE, midface, and TMJ’s through a safe coronal incision with a favorable scar hidden in the hairline. This includes the raising of the pericranial flap for various indications. The leFort III osteotomy is also shown, which is approached via the coronal incision.
